    No worries!

    Once you travel outside of your initial base (i.e. more than 100km from it) and capture a new land, it will automatically convert into a base when it reaches level 5. 😉

  2. Hi John,

    "Merge Lands" is used to combine multiple nearby lands (each with its own flag) into a bigger land with only one flag.
    The land borders have to be adjacent for that to happen and you will usually know that it's the case when one of the lands stops upgrading and prompts you to merge it with a nearby land instead.

    However, your bases (from the list in "My Lands" tab) represent individual "counties" with a 100km radius and cannot be merged. Bases operate independently from each other and have their own command centres, warehouses and other infrastructure.

  4. Hi all,

    This year we are celebrating Christmas and the holiday season with a number of things, starting with a series of quests:

    from tomorrow (13th of December 2021) capturing a new land (or placing a new utility structure) will start a new quest; one quest per day for the next 12 days.
    Each quest is time-limited and gives you 24 hours for completion.

    The more quests you finish, the more Unobtainium will be awarded, but if you fail to finish a particular stage - don't panic, you can still continue the quest chain the next day.
    However, some stages will have additional randomized rewards on top of Unobtainium (some rewards better than others), so make sure to capture new lands every day not to miss out!

    We will also be organizing a New Year's Raffle on the last day of December; another relevant quest outlining the details will appear in the game and on our Instagram page very soon.
    If you aren't following "Domination: Earth" on Instagram, now may be the best time to do so. 😉
    But to give you a heads up, the raffle will be based on "tickets" awarded for sharing our latest Christmas-themed Instagram post in your stories.
    To participate, all you need to do is follow our Instagram page, share the aforementioned post to your stories once it appears (any time now!), comment under the original post leaving your in-game display name (or DM the Instagram page) to help us keep track of things, and repeat the process every 24 hours (after the story expires) for additional entries into the raffle.

    New Year's Raffle prizes are:
    1st place: a "Santa Hat" item + 100 Unobtainium. 🤩
    2nd place: 50 Unobtainium. 🎉
    3rd place: 25 Unobtainium. 🌟

    And finally, there will be a third way to earn lots of Unobtainium this year for the most daring, brave and creative players of DE!
    You may notice that the contents of daily quests mentioned above look similar to a famous Christmas carol: "The Twelve Days of Christmas" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tReKR_ar5Ls ).
    Yes, this was done on purpose. And yes, we sang it out loud numerous times ourselves while writing the quests. 😅
    Having done so we have decided to challenge you to do the same in the form of a competition:
    record your "music video" singing the entire "Twelve Days of Christmas" quest chain song and win 🌟🎉500 Unobtainium🎇🤩 if your video scores the highest number of likes (or if you're the only contestant 🙂)!

    Rules of the competition are:

    • There are no strict requirements on the video content (e.g. you might record yourself or simply create a a Christmassy slideshow, a DE meme or absolutely anything else your heart desires!), and the only audio requirement is that the song is not performed with an AI-generated voice (i.e. it is okay to apply "special effects" to your own voice if you wish, but it still has to be your own voice underneath 🙂).
    • You do have to sing every verse of the song as they appear in the quest chain ("On the first day...", "On the second day..." and so on, until the last verse of "On the twelfth day"), just like in the original Christmas carol. No skipping days. 🙂
    • Upload your video to YouTube, subscribe to "Domination: Earth"'s channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDxq3elmqcsA4Ng-W_739vA ) and mention it in the video's description along with a link to our website ( https://domination.earth/ ) for anyone who decides to look into the game as a result of your inspirational singing. 🙂
      I would be also grateful if you DM'ed me with a link to your video (on the forum, Discord, Facebook or Instagram, whichever is more convenient) to make it easier to find in the future.
    • You are free to ask your friends or other players to like your video in any format and via any means (blackmail excluded, although if you do so please just keep it a secret 😅), and the ultimate goal is to get as many likes as you can.
      After the New Year's Raffle is over we will go through all the submissions, check & compare everyone's accumulated number of likes and choose the lucky winner using the greatest number.
    • There will be only 1 prize of 500 Unobtainium awarded to the winner, but we will be giving away some runner-up prizes depending on the video content as we see fit (anything Christmassy and DE-themed will definitely score bonus points).
    • The lyrics (same as the quest itself) are only available in English (sorry!). There is a limit to our multilingualism and we don't trust Google Translate to deliver the right quality of content here. 🙂
      Please do not be shy and give it your best anyway even if English isn't your native language, our team is in the same boat and we have weird accents of all sorts, so everyone is welcome to participate regardless of your English level! 🙂

    Есть ли возможность, что этой землёй вы просто давно не пользовались? 🙂

    Откройте фильтр карты и обратите внимание на следующие настройки:

    Попробуйте выключить "Скрыть неактивные земли" и посмотреть, появится ли ваша земля.
    Или же, возможно, она находится вне радиуса видимости, который можно изменить настройкой "Радиус отображения земель".

    Version 2.9 (2.9.0 for iOS and 2.9.1 for Android) will become available shortly, featuring:

    • Introduction of personal/hidden resources:
      once every hour after capturing lands you will see a bunch of resources appear very close to your current position (within a few minutes of walking).
      These resources are marked as hidden and can only be picked up by yourself and will not be shared with allies.

       
    • Spawnable resource cap around your current position has been doubled to 100 units of each resource.
       
    • Quest system update: no differences will be seen just yet, but the new version allows us to launch a series of quests that include new types of requirements and rewards.
      We also expect a Christmas event based on this system very soon, so please download the new app to participate. ;)
      A separate announcement will be made about that.

       
    • Support for Android 12.
      Unfortunately, due to a vast gap in technical requirements between Android 6 and Android 12 we've had to temporarily suspend the support of Android 6 devices, as some of our legacy components no longer function on version 6 after migrating to Android 12.
      At the moment I cannot comment on when Android 6 will be back as my development resources are very limited and I have to choose between improving the game with new content and rebuilding the existing features to support older devices.
      Since only a couple of our players still use Android 6 the new content took priority this time, but I will revisit this issue as soon as time allows in the future.
      My apologies for inconvenience!

       
    • Version 2.9.1 is an Android-specific fix to the item scrapping facility (thanks to @ValarMorghulisfor the report! ;)).
      There will be no version 2.9.1 released on the App Store as iOS remains unaffected by the issue and scrapping still works.

    And my apologies, that is indeed the case.

    Latest update was quite problematic due to the introduction of support for Android 12, which conflicted with some of our older components.
    As a result, we've suspended support of Android 6 for now (official announcement will follow soon) and looks like the scrapping facility got affected as well.
    I'll do my best to restore it as soon as possible. ;)

  8. Hi all,

    We are preparing for the release of version 2.9 which has been delayed by a number of reasons beyond our control, unfortunately.
    The app itself is not expected to go live just yet, but I would like to proceed with the release of some new server-side features that will assist with our internal testing.

    Most of them will remain invisible in the current game version, but there is one addition that won't be and I would like to mention it to avoid any confusion:
    In version 2.9 we are adding a concept of "hidden"/personal items on the map (that includes resources and characters), i.e. things only visible to you that cannot be picked up by anyone else and that cannot be shared.
    Once per hour your in-game activity will trigger generation of such hidden resources very close to your current location, providing something extra to do in a 5-10 minute walking radius.

    In version 2.9 the hidden map items will look slightly different and contain a note about their nature, but right now they will appear exactly as any other type of resources.
    So if you pick something up and it doesn't get shared or remains invisible to another person, please do not panic; it's not a bug, but something we are expecting in the upcoming version of the game.

    Correct, FoT is triggered by everyone and its bases are shared by all players. There are all kinds of crazy overlaps happening that are quite hard to trace, so it is difficult for me to comment on what happened in your particular case. It could really be a one-off corner case / unique base placement combo (since all coordinates are randomized).
    But please let me know if you start seeing FoT bases stacked too close to each other on a regular basis. ;)

    We ran into a couple of combat-related server-side errors at the end of October that were immediately fixed afterwards, so it could very likely be that. :)
    Please let me know if it happens again though.

    The seven day waiting period is not global, but applies to the destroyed base's area only.
    Sometimes FoT has multiple bases with intersecting territories, in which case all of them have to be destroyed for it to go away completely.

    Otherwise destroying an FoT base somewhere in Antarctica would disable the FoT activity in rest of the world and that would be a fairly boring game. :)

    Being attacked by others does not trigger the army cooldown for you.
    I don't think that's ever been the case, as that is too easy to abuse (I shouldn't be able to prevent you from attacking others by attacking your land and instantly retreating, for example).
    So counter-attacks are always allowed. ;)

    And once again, the army cooldown applies to each base individually, so having an enemy land in the intersection of 3 bases (for example) allows you to attack that land three times.
    Not sure if this applies to your situation, but mentioning it just in case!

    A fix has just been released, failed attempts to upgrade the maximum level utility structure should no longer expend the land capture charge. ;)

    What is your "Hide lands older than: X" setting value?
    Were the newly captured lands (that you can't see) within the base's radius or outside?
    Can you show an approximate location of where you expected these lands to be (i.e. where is that path), please? 🙂

    No problem, I have refunded the 5 spent unobtainium; accidents happen. 😉

    I don't think that adding a second confirmation would help much if the first one doesn't. 😅
    But I am always here to correct any mistakes and refund accidental purchases, as it will never be my intent to mislead players / trip them into buying something they didn't mean to. 🙂

    Квест ожидает, что вы построете новую бетонную стену (металлический забор не считается. Я только что подправил описание этого квеста на всякий случай).

    Ваш аккаунт был создан в 2018ом году, до появления системы квестов, и последняя бетонная стена была построена 28 июня 2020.
    Квест о постройке стены был получен в сентябре 2021 года, то есть после постройки стены.
    Всё, что требуется по квесту, должно произойти после его получения (т.е. нельзя, к примеру, сначала собрать вещи, а потом получить квест на их поиск и сразу же его сдать. То же самое касается и построек: все требования нужно построить заново после получения квеста, иначе некоторые квесты в игре можно было бы сдавать в цикле бесконечно).
    Именно поэтому все обучающие квесты (типа постройки стены) имеют кнопку "Пропустить", т.к. они существуют для тех, кто только создал игровой аккаунт и не играл раньше.

    Я отметил ваш квест, как пройденный, но если у вас не удастся пройти следующие шаги обучения рекоммендую просто их пропустить и заполнить квест лог полноценными квестами, подобранными на карте мира. 😉

It's not a big deal when there's only a couple, but when there are a lot and I'm not sure which ones I've attacked, it gets a bit annoying.

    Please try version 2.8.11 and let me know if it's any better! ;)

    I suspect that the slowdown is caused by the new "Load map tiles faster" profile setting that is now disabled by default (but was enabled in the previous version).

    If you're still experiencing the same slowdown with the new setting disabled, please post!
