  1. I have three bases. Two are fairly close together an overlap and I can see all of the lands on both even zoomed out. I have a third base about a thousand miles away that does not show any lands in its control Circle, even though I have enough land to make it level Five. I know the lands are not lost as some of my alliance members can see them locally but these lands do not appear even if I zoom in. Is this a feature or a glitch?

    That's great!
I'm hoping that the current version is only temporary (it may take some time for me to finish our custom design), but it's good to know you like it more than the previous version. :)
I like it too due to the fact that villages and small towns are labelled, which helps to know where you're at while driving around.

Yup, I am aware of that!
As stated above, this is only temporary. :)
I'm hoping to introduce a bit more colour to our own DE map once it's finished; it will remain dark, but roads and some other features may be otherwise highlighted.
There's still much work to do before I can share any previews, but if I end up with multiple versions I will start a vote. ;)

Ok, both sound good.  I know the game I played previously I believe they said that the map was resident in our device memory and the server only had to put the virtual items on it.  Of course that was back when I was using a windows phone so things may not be the same.

Is this easier and/or cheaper than using the Google Maps and fixing the conflicts the game was having with it?  Own This World worked as an overlay to Google Maps.  You had to open it before the game or you did not have a map.

    Just some random thoughts.

  3. That is fine from this end, however I did notice that the map in the background seems darker than it was before with the latest update. It is harder to sea roads. Some of us keep your game open for navigation purposes so we don't have to have multiple apps open at the same time. Others use the map to help them figure out how to get to certain resources.

  4. Understood.  I would rather play a cheat free game...  I did have my GPS glitch where it showed me still at home when I was a hundred miles away. I hit the flag without looking at where it was showing me and then when it pops the correct location 15 minutes later it would not let me upgrade that flag. That one cleared in less than an hour because I had another break and an hour later. This one, I look forward to finding out if there was a simple issue or something that I did because ice did not arrange a layover this time because I did not know how the game was going to respond. I had intended if it worked well to plan a layover next time.

  5. So according to another game I had open, I turned off airplane mode and randomly tapped the screen durring the flight.  Explains why half my apps were open.  Must have happened when I was trying to put my phone in my pocket during takeoff. Would this have outside the game? Someone told me they have the same problem occasionally while they're playing the game sitting on a train. If you have it time to you may want to consider pushing the speed up a little bit.

  6. Ok, I just got off a plane about an hour ago after a 2k mile flight.  When I first got off the plane the game informed me I could not place or capture a location. I saw that happened once before when my GPS glitched and moved me suddenly from my house to where I currently was but it reset in less than an hour. I just wanted to find out if this is going to be worse because there's a longer distance?

No problem; if the current system is causing you headache I will add a "My Profile" setting configuring this button's behaviour. ;)

Also thank you for the summary; it is an interesting observation. :)
    I'll respond about that separately!

Thanks.  That would help.  I doubt I have identified all the ways people are playing...

  8. I understand I can always click the small flag on a nearby land but the way I play I may not always have time to go through those steps before I am out of range, or when I am with someone else and did not want to have my face in the game, it was simple to click on the flag every 15 minutes, but when I am looking at my phone, and messing on it to find my land and click the small button, my wife starts asking me what I am doing....

I ask that you consider making the ability to turn on the 500 meter drop range at least optionally, for those that use it as part of our play style.

Also, see the summary and survey I put in the Q&A section...

  9. Ok, I am putting this one on here to give general feedback to the developer about the different way players play this game.  This is a combination of the feedback I have seen on here and on the chat, as well as talking to a couple people offline who play but are not active in either.  I am trying to categorize in general terms.  One or more category may apply to you so speak up on what type of player you are.  Feedback might help the developer get an idea of how and why his players are playing, and may help guide where he chooses the game to go.

    • Explorer:  This player travels to different locations such as a downtown area today and a mall tomorrow, and walks around dropping lands or growing if they have been there before.  Possibly the game encourages them to visit a different restaurant each day for lunch, or visit a park and hike the trails.  They play in their leisure time.  I get the impression this was the developer's intent.
    • Walker:  This player has limited means to travel far from home, such as minors or students.  They explore their local area and may visit some others regularly but don't travel much.  They are the ones who liked the ability to drop lands inside of large lands as it lets them grow when they don't get outside of their max radius often.
    • Commuters:  These players ride a distance every day on a bus, train, or in a carpool, and play the game on the road in between.  They are the ones who liked the auto upgrade to a land within 500m as their commute drop is not accurate enough to drop in the same place each time and the flag on the land can get out of range too quickly.
    • Travelers:  These people travel for work or pleasure, and like establishing new bases wherever they go.

    • Another category could be Road Warriors.  These are truck drivers and retirees that travel the roads.  I spoke to some I played other games with and who tried this game. They tend to love location based games, but they don't want to be touching their phones all the time as they may be driving.  You already have an auto-follow feature.  Consider an auto drop feature that would drop a land every 15 minutes without touching your phone..  To prevent someone from sitting in one place and leaving this on, you could have it automatically turn off if it drops in the same location twice in a row.  You would have to have the auto lock on land within 500m when this was turned on, but would allow them to slowly take over a route they may make regular runs on.  They would probably build bases where they stop.  They would still need to visit the land remotely to build on it...  It is a whole category of player that is not really playing this because they have to click all the time.

I am an Explorer and Commuter, and may be a Traveler soon...  How do you play?  Do you play some other way?

  10. I think based on the conversations I'm seeing on the Forum that you have several different play styles for this game. When you make a major change like this it can enhance the game for some play Styles but eliminate the possibility of others. I will post something in the general discussion area about different play Styles because I see three distinct ways that this is being played although some players are combining them depending on what they are doing. It will be up to the developer to decide what direction he wants to take the game.

Oh no you're right this isn't a democracy, it's a capitalistic system. high-paying players, players who enjoy the game leave and now they make less money they go back to ways that made more money. That's what I'm worried I'm worried this is simply a cash grab make it more difficult thus we spend more money.

Not the concern I have.  I have seen no signs of cash grab in this game.  I just think there was some confusion and he was looking to fix an unintended consequence, but did not consider how some players are actually playing...

I agree, however I believe that using this Democratic process will speed it up. negative publicity always encourages progress

That is just it.  This game is not a democracy.  Even if you have spent a lot of money on unobtanium, the game is fully owned and all decisions made by MR. D.  We are here raising our concerns and asking him to take them into considerations, not make demands or threats.  Hh has the right to leave the game as is, just as you have the right to not play...

I think this is very expensive considering that you might had to pay several times for the same lands/levels.

For example if I merged a level 100 land with a level 50 land which is than big enough to touch another level 50 land I had to pay 300 Supplies and 3,000 Money. So basically I would pay for the first level 100 and level 50 land to times but for the second level 50 land only one time. I think it would be nice to only pay the merging fees for the littler land.

I have to agree that the cost seems backwards...  paying for bigger land every time will quickly become discouraging...

  14. So I have heard from 3 people that the timer seems to freeze sometime when you are out of the game, so that you have time left when you go back in.  I had thought the timer was set to alert a minute or so but I have seen messages on the chat that it can be up to 10 minutes, and a friend of mine who's the new player mention he was having problems with it freezing. I plan to test it on my phone a few times to see if that's what's really not going on. I've not paid enough attention to it to date
