  1. To assist with this situation I've activated a couple of "resource boosts": your check-ins will now generate up to x6 more resources in areas with fewer than 50 resource spots, and areas with no resources at all will receive a starting set of 50 spots after the first land capture. I hope that helps! P.S. By "area" I mean a circle with a 5km radius.
  2. Thank you for the report, Matieusz56! I will investigate the problem! In the meantime, please check out this thread for details on how to purchase Unobtainium manually:
  3. Hi Kryllan! Resources generate every time someone captures land, so if you are the only player in the area it is possible that there will only be a few of them in the beginning. But keep checking in and capture new lands for your base (or just check in on your base to increase its defences) and soon the situation will change.
  4. Thank you! Will see if I can get my hands on a OnePlus 3. There will be some in-game events relatively soon (and most likely one related to Halloween!) that award Unobtainium. We are thinking about implementing alternative means of getting that resource, but in the current version there are no other options, sorry!
  5. Hi SpeedFab, My apologies! May I ask what kind of mobile device you have? I'll see if we can reproduce and fix the problem! In the meantime, I'd be happy to broker some Unobtainium for you manually. Our Unobtainium prices are: £13.99 (18.58 USD) for 10 units of Unobtainium. £25.99 (34.52 USD) for 20 units of Unobtainium. £47.99 (63.73 USD) for 40 units of Unobtainium. £93.99 (124.82 USD) for 100 units of Unobtainium. £169.99 (225.75 USD) for 200 units of Unobtainium. Our PayPal account is "billing@epicdragon.co.uk"; if you decide to proceed with the purchase please send me a private message on this forum after you've sent the payment and I'll respond as soon as the resource is transferred to your account. If you do not have a PayPal account, please let me know and I'll message you the alternative payment method details.
  6. Thank you both for the ideas! I am planning to arrange some sort of rare in-game events that would lead to acquisition of unobtainium, just need to work out the details. We've created an Unobtainium Mine building for that purpose, which isn't normally accessible but will be used for any activities like that. Are you referring to the radius that allows upgrading the same land (instead of creating a new flag) or the fact that sometimes after checking in in one place (with no existing flags nearby) a new flag appears in a different location? If the latter, I'm afraid GPS accuracy depends purely on the device and cell coverage in your area (the better the coverage, the more accurate the results). But if you are talking about land upgrades, the reason why you can't create new flags within the 500m radius is that on level 100 (maximum level for one individual flag) that territory is going to be fully covered by the upgraded land. In other words, even if you have gaps between flags right now your town will be 100% yours when your lands reach maximum level. We are definitely going to have leaderboards on the website eventually! Just need some time to develop that. But did you know that when you zoom out the map really far all flags and resources disappear, but a binocular icon appears in each country instead, showing the current country statistics (including name of the country leader and their land size)? Do I understand correctly that you're referring to automating resource collection? E.g. you build a Refinery, which allows collecting Supplies on a base, but then don't have to click on "Collect Resources" manually when you sleep? We do have something like that! In 7 days after you stop playing your bases and lands disappear completely and cannot be attacked or damaged in any way until you come back. Once you login everything reappears and things return to normal. I could add a manual trigger to allow enabling this mode sooner than in 7 days, but I fear that this feature will be abused: e.g. someone attacks a nearby player with their entire army, loses the war and in fear of retaliation from the defending player enables "vacation mode" to prevent enemies destroying their base. That wouldn't be entirely fair, I think! Any suggestions on how to improve this area are welcome though! Sounds like a good idea for an expansion! Will add this to my task list and have a think about how this could work! I was hoping that as this is a mobile game and the alliance usually consists of a group of friends who know each other in real life, real-time communication would be based on 3rd party apps like "Messenger", while players unfamiliar with each other could arrange meetings and alliances on the forum. The problem with adding in-game chat is that it requires monitoring to prevent verbal abuse, spam and other sorts of unpleasantries. But unfortunately, we're a little short of staff right now to add a 24/7 chat moderation (there are fewer than 5 of us currently ). However, this is definitely something we'll consider as we start growing!
  7. Sure, I've released your username; please feel free to re-register with the same email. Hi Franzol, Are you referring to the "New resource appeared in the area" message? If yes, this simply means that your action of capturing land has generated a new resource somewhere within a 5km radius around you (you still need to find and collect it manually). I apologize if the notification phrasing sounds confusing, I'll think about how to make it clearer! Thank you for the positive feedback, Queen Lina! I recommend building an army as soon as possible though to ensure that your kingdom remains yours when other Kentucky dwellers discover "Domination"! In regard to land borders, I'd be grateful if you could provide some more details as to how you envision this (i.e. whether it's a border between your own lands or the way your and someone else's lands intersect). I've asked the same question in the news thread, so please feel free to reply in any of these threads.
  8. Thank you, Queen Lina! Are you referring to a border between yours and someone else's lands or you would like to see a different type of border between your own lands too?
  9. Hi all, Version 1.5.0 of "Domination: Earth" will become available to all devices as an update later this evening and features the following changes: Picked up resources are now shared upon collection with any active alliance members nearby. Alliance members have to be within a 500m radius from you and must have used the app within the last hour to be considered active. Picking up resources is now possible to do at any time without waiting. Capturing Land still works exactly as before, but while waiting for the 15 minute timer to reach zero you can now use the "Pick Up Resources" button to collect any resources laying around instantly. It is possible to view enemies and resources surrounding any land in your possession by tapping on its info tooltip. Your captured lands allowing this feature are now marked with green flags. Resource icon size will now vary depending on the amount of resources in it. 1% chance of "supersized" resources appearing on the map containing unusually large amounts. Each "supersized" resource will appear as a big icon on the map and contain at least x10 more resource on average. Usage of "Capture Land" that results in new resources appearing on the map will now show a notification telling you what exactly has been added. Automatic in-app updates will now only occur when your device is connected to wi-fi. There are many more features planned for "Domination: Earth", so stay tuned for more updates!

    My quick review

Thanks Devilx4! Very happy to hear that you are enjoying Domination! Your suggestions sound reasonable, I'll see if I can get some of those ideas included in the next update!
  11. Hi David, Thank you very much for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Domination! In regard to your issues: 1.This probably varies by country, but we did notice a similar issue while exploring England. I'm planning to solve this problem by adding "power ups" and items allowing to capture hard to reach resources further away from yourself than usual. Any other suggestions are welcome though! 2. If it's not showing up in "My Lands" then it's probably still being built (each building has a "time cost" associated with its construction). As soon as you purchase a building a timer appears underneath its name in the "Construct" tab. When the timer reaches zero that building appears in "My Lands". Barracks take 30 minutes, so I believe they should have appeared in "My Lands" for you by now (please let me know if the building's still missing!). Sharing resources with alliance members sounds like a great idea! I'll add it into the task list for our upcoming next version!
  12. Fair enough! I will adjust the in-app updater to use wifi only. In general I tend to avoid using this feature and it's only activated in case of critical hotfixes (e.g. when the app would otherwise not function at all). All non-essential updates are distributed via the Play Store / App Store where you have the ability to choose whether to download the update straight away or not.
  13. Hi Venusdimylo, Just uninstall the app and all your lands will deactivate automatically in 7 days if you don't login again before that. May I ask what you didn't like in Domination that made you want to leave?

    Claiming resources

Resource capture radius for new lands was 30m (approx. 100ft) until today, but I've increased it to 50m (160ft) just now, please let me know if that helps!
  15. Since version 1.4 there's a 5% chance to find a resource "unusual" for its current area (e.g. Supplies in cities and Personnel in the wilderness).
  16. Hi Hillson! Great questions! First of all, I do agree that privacy is very important and we've done as much as possible to keep your information safe and do not use any features of your phone than the very minimum to allow the game to function. You are correct, phone call permissions etc. may appear as a default requirement for certain versions of mobile operating systems, but aren't actually used by "Domination: Earth". Here's a full list of things the game needs (and why): 1) "Location" permission is used to launch native Google Maps and allow it to update the current position marker as a "cursor" for land capture selection. We do not record or monitor your history of movement and all location data is processed by the native Google Maps app only ("Domination: Earth" doesn't access the GPS chip of your phone or any geolocation features directly). So using "Domination: Earth" in that aspect is exactly the same as opening "Google Maps" on your phone. When you capture land or open the "My Lands" tab the game asks "Google Maps" for your current location once, displays relevant land details and that's it. Only the land position remains in the database, so if you don't capture lands around places that you find sensitive (e.g. home) we or other players will never find out where they are. Still, we have considered that some players may establish their first base at home (on purpose or by accident), which is why we've made the first base visible only to you by default. That first base only becomes visible for 24 hours if you attack another player (e.g. using an army. Just capturing land won't do that) to provide them with the ability to retaliate, but afterwards it's hidden once again. To collect resources you need to stand within a 30m radius from them, your presence on a base is calculated using a 200m radius and expanding your existing lands operates on a 500m radius from the land center requirement. So your location is fairly approximate, we don't work with exact addresses! So yes, you need to be "generally" around something to interact with it on the "Earth View" tab, but construction and unit management (e.g. transferring armies, attacking another player with an army or requesting your missile launcher to fire) can be done remotely from anywhere in the world. 2) "Camera" is used only to scan barcodes and transform items into in-game resources. It isn't used for anything else, so if you disable the camera permission manually you can still enjoy all aspects of the game apart from item scrapping. We do not have access to your album and won't store anything on your phone either: during the process of barcode scanning the scanned barcode only remains on our server for 24 hours (without any context) purely to prevent players from scanning the same item again in that time period. After 24 hours this barcode is deleted from our database as if it was never recorded in the first place. This information isn't used for any marketing purposes and scanned barcodes are not shared with any 3rd party. 3) "Multimedia" is used to play sounds upon land capture, construction, combat etc. We do not access (and do not have access to) any local media files on your phone. 4) "Billing" is only used to launch an in-app purchase user interface during attempts to purchase Unobtainium. All payment related details are handled purely by Google Play or Apple (iTunes), the only thing our servers receive is the receipt ID used to verify that the purchase actually happened. Our database does not receive or store details about your payment (name, address or other sensitive information), just the name of the package purchased. 5) "Internet/Wifi" - we do need to communicate with the server to display resource, player and base locations to you. Your game details aren't stored locally on the phone (which allows to use any device to access the same account) and they are retrieved from the server whenever you open the app. All other permissions that you may see are redundant defaults indeed (e.g. we really don't need Flashlight on your phone for anything, but it's just something that comes with the "Camera" permission ). In summary: We do not record any personally identifiable information (email username is used purely for password recovery), which is also why "Domination: Earth" asks to create a brand new account to play - to keep it disconnected from your google play or iTunes account (so any captured land positions are not linked to a real person, only the display name provided during account creation which you can change freely at any moment via "My Profile"). As you may have noticed, the game also doesn't have any form of in-app advertising, so none of your information is used for any marketing purposes or is sold to a 3rd party. Apologies, that would be my personal omission. I will fix this and the next version of our app will offer the ability to choose the install location yourself. I hope this information helps, but please let me know if you have any follow-up questions! P.S. I believe the subject of in-game privacy and phone permissions deserves its own thread, which is why I moved it.
  17. Hello everyone, Following feedback received from our players we've decided to perform an overhaul of the land capture mechanics and made some big changes! The most important issue we've tried to solve is the ability to "capture the world" (or a very large chunk of it at least ) without leaving one place that you visit regularly (e.g. work, school, university). Because "Domination: Earth" promotes travel (hiking, cycling and other forms of real-world exploration) we really didn't want frequent travelers to lose in comparison to those who have the ability to check in frequently from the same location. Additionally, it's been pointed out that enormous lands which you can create in only a couple of days of active gameplay cause real discomfort in areas with 5 or more players (we've literally started to run out of space in some corners of Earth!). Although we do support wars and player-vs-player interactions, living in a constant fear of "collateral damage" in a city that gets crowded after only a few check-ins isn't what we planned either. Accordingly, the following changes were made: Land Capture radius has been reduced to 5m per level, maximum land level is set to 100. It is no longer possible to capture the entire country from behind your office desk by checking in daily at work, and creating super-sized lands (i.e. at some point you will have to travel elsewhere ). This will also reduce the level of tension between players in small towns and villages, as more people will be able to coexist peacefully with a larger number of lands fitting within one area. Maximum base level has been increased to 100, so bases can grow a lot further than before. Land expansion is now connected to the constructed buildings and their upgrades. To reach maximum land level you will need to support that land with defensive and offensive structures. First 10 levels of land have no requirements, but every 10 levels after that will ask for 1 more building or upgrade. Defensive structures (Guard Towers, Missile Launchers, Nuclear Silos) can now attack lands immediately adjacent to yours (center of the enemy land no longer has to be located within your land's radius for the guard towers to function). Accordingly, small lands suffering from a large land nearby will now be able to retaliate as soon as the larger land's border touches yours. Presence of a Guard Tower or other offensive structure now blocks damage taken from enemies capturing land nearby. The only way to damage a protected land now is to destroy the Guard Tower with an army first. Resource icons now show the exact number of that resource located in the area. Some tutorial steps have been switched around, with wall construction and resource collection stages appearing sooner. Please post if something doesn't make sense or if you have any questions! Remember, "Domination: Earth" and its development is driven by player feedback, so your opinion matters!
  18. Heya! Yes, the latest update re-balances game mechanics in multiple aspects. I will create a more detailed announcement about that tonight, but to sum it up: size of lands has been reduced and certain upgrade conditions added, while base levels have been increased (from the former maximum of 10 to the new limit of 100). So lands will be smaller, which will allow a larger number of players to co-exist in one area, while bases will be a lot larger. Once again, how and why will be explained in an announcement later today!
  19. Sorry for the late response! I'm glad to hear that everything is working again!
  20. Hi Txnsky! Don't worry, we planned many updates for the game including several new buildings; this is only the very first version, much more content will come!

    Cannot capture land

Hi Tyler! There are normally two possible reasons for this: 1) You are connected to a wifi network that reports a really weird position, conflicting with the GPS coordinates (some wifi routers appear as if they are hundreds of miles away from you, which confuses the anti-cheat system :)). Try switching off wifi and capture land again. If that helps I'll see if I can adjust the system to work with your particular network! 2) if you are not connected to wifi, it is possible that the phone's GPS froze and is sending a misleading position... Can you please reboot the phone and let me know if that helps? If none of that works, please also tell and I'll keep investigating
  22. If you're new to the community and don't know where to start, please feel free to introduce yourself and say "Hi!" to us in this thread.
  23. If you experience any problem, no matter how small it is, please let us know about it in this forum. App crashing, notifications not appearing, GPS placing you in a wrong spot, password reset emails not arriving or any other technical question always deserves an answer! Alternatively, if your problem is of a confidential nature (e.g. an exploit that shouldn't become well-known) or if you'd simply like to speak in private, please email us at support@domination.earth or send a Private Message to me on this forum or our Facebook page.
  24. As all of you know, there are four types of resources available in "Domination: Earth": Money, Supplies, Personnel and Unobtainium. All resources, except for Unobtainium, appear in random locations within a 5 kilometer radius around you after every check-in (i.e. Capture Land). Resource locations are shared between players, which means that any resource that you can see on the map is visible to all other players nearby as well, so you have to get the resource before someone else does. The visibility radius for resources is 10km; anything further than that from you will not be displayed until you move closer. There are two types of resources on the map: sources (also referred to as "stations") and one-off items. As you may suspect, one-off items (bearing the same icon as the resources appearing in "My Lands" and "Construct) disappear as soon as they are picked up by capturing land around them. Resource stations (Oil Rigs, Recruitment Beacons, Supply Factories) are semi-permanent sources of income and will last for 7 days from the moment of appearing on the world map, so make sure you capture one as soon as you see it! As soon as you capture a station it will award you with a small amount of its resource, but then you can collect more from "My Lands" tab by pressing "Collect Resources" every hour. But watch out for enemies: players who manage to capture a piece of land that has a higher level than yours will take over the resource station if it falls within their land's radius. To get your station back you will need to either upgrade your land to a higher level than the opponent's or destroy the opponent's land (e.g. using an army). Please note that players in an active alliance cannot take over each other's resource stations and the first player to capture it will keep the station for the rest of its lifetime or until the alliance is terminated (in which case see previous paragraph!). Here's where and how to obtain each of the resources: Money Appears anywhere in the world (even in water; boat owners, watch out! ). Random amounts of money can also be scrapped from real-world items by scanning their barcodes. Supplies This resource mostly appears in "wilderness", i.e. any place in the world that doesn't have a "street address": forests, lakes, deserts, mountains. So whenever you are hiking outside of the city make sure to capture a piece of land to see if any supplies or their sources pop up nearby! Quite often you will find that the resource appears right next to you, so keep checking in even if no resources are seen currently. Alternatively, you can scrap items for supplies or build a Refinery using Unobtainium. If you do possess a Refinery then you will always be able to collect Supplies from a base that built it without the need to go hiking. Personnel This resource mostly appears in cities, towns and villages. You will very rarely find personnel in the wilderness and it also cannot be obtained from item scrapping. Unobtainium Can only be purchased via the App Store / Play Store, or acquired as a reward for participating in any game-related events. Unobtainium can be exchanged for any other resource on the "Construct" tab. If you have any additional questions about resources or their collection, please do not hesitate to ask!
  25. Hi all, "Domination: Earth" is free for everyone to enjoy, which is why there are a few key rules that we'd like our players to follow in order to maintain the enjoyable and friendly environment. No advertising We do not force any form of advertising on our players and ask you to do the same. Please do not use your display name or name of your lands to promote a 3rd party product or website unrelated to domination. If your lands represent a fan website (e.g. an alliance or guild of "Domination: Earth" players) it is fine to mention that group's name in your land title, but not as a web address (i.e. without "http", "www.", ".com" or other domain attributes). Display name should still relate to the person in charge of the account. Violation of this rule will lead to a forceful renaming of your display name / lands title. Repeat violation will lead to account deactivation. No offensive content Any names and land titles that promote discrimination, racism or content that may be upsetting to other players will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will lead to the change of offensive name without notice and, in case of repeat violation, account deactivation. About multiple devices "Domination: Earth" can be played from multiple devices and sharing of an account with family members or friends is not prohibited, as long as all parties are playing close to each other (e.g. travelling as a group in one location) and your account is not logged in and active on more than one device at a time. I.e. it is allowed to: a) Log out from your original device and login to your friend's phone if that friend is standing physically next to you. b) Login to another device you have if your original phone's battery is dead. It is not recommended to: c) Ask someone else in a different part of the world to login to your account to establish a remote base. d) Remain logged in and active in the game on more than one device that aren't located next to each other. Failure to comply with this recommendation puts your account at risk of being flagged by our anti-cheat: if that happens you may get a permanent ban for falsifying your position. That is why we always encourage all players to create their own accounts and advise against sharing your password with anyone else. We will also *never* ask for your password for any reason, so please be wary of anyone doing the opposite - this is most definitely a scam! Multiple accounts Use of multiple accounts for one person is not prohibited as long as it is used for legitimate purposes (i.e. not exploiting the trade or resource sharing mechanics) and does not affect other players. For example, having multiple PvP-enabled accounts for the purpose of bypassing combat restrictions and simultaneously attacking a player and defending against attacks of others is considered "bad behaviour": we do not want to encourage use of multiple accounts, but actions like that inevitably force victims to use the same tactics to defend themselves. Any instances of similar combat-related multi-logging abuse can be reported to me and the offending account will be suspended from combat activity temporarily. Abusing known exploits and dubious strategies Abusing bugs or features of the game that allow bypassing certain restrictions (e.g. the need to travel to create new lands) are generally frowned upon. If you're in doubt about a particular feature as it looks "too good to be true" - please ask, it's better than being sorry at a later stage. Any exploit abuse usually leads to severe penalties and/or removal from leaderboards. Please note that additional restrictions are now in force until the mechanics changes described in the following post are implemented: Common sense We do rely on everyone's common sense when playing "Domination: Earth" or using this forum and will refrain from listing rules that are too obvious (e.g. "do not arrange real-world arms deals on our forum" ). So if something is obviously illegal or completely amoral, please don't do it even if this list doesn't mention that subject. Please also note that this list may be updated and more rules added without any notice if the situation demands it. If you see anyone in violation of these rules, please report the abuse on the forum or via email at support@domination.earth
