Item Collection Boosters

How far do item collection boosters stack?  Can I activate 9 super magnets, and stack them with 6 bullhorns, for a total personnel collection radius of 3300m?

Is there a maximum cap, and if so, can I mix-and-match any items I want to get there? 

And on a related note, I noticed that the super magnets have a number of "charges" associated with them.  I suspect that it means after hitting the "collect" button 5 times, they go away, whether or not the hour limit has been reached.  Is this correct?

That's absolutely correct!
Except that the charge isn't expended if the magnet hasn't picked anything up (so no harm in trying ).

Yup!
There is no maximum, so as many magnets as you can carry can be activated at once.

I wouldn't mix different non-magnet items though as this may make things look confusing: activating 10 Bullhorns and 1 Metal Detector will not allow you to collect money as if you've activated 11 Metal Detectors; only the personnel is affected by the large circle.
