  1. An addendum: I cleared the cache for the app and now the map is completely gone. It is thus most likely that map information is not provided by the appropriate server.
  2. Several of us have reported on the Discord server of having issues with the map background. As I show in a screenshot, some areas appear while others do not. Scrolling out part way have the map disappear altogether. Scrolling out significantly has some areas appear and others not showing. So far, the game mechanics appear unaffected and functional normally.

    Next Event?

I write this one week before Halloween. Will there be any forthcoming details related to this? Just checking...

    Next Event?

These are times when players get a chance at some goodies, usually unobtainium. The last event was over Easter, and a previous one was over Christmas. I believe there was a Halloween event last year (before I started playing), and my guess is that if there is an upcoming one it was be in late October.

    Couch expansions

Perhaps I should add a few thoughts to the discussion, considering that I may have pioneered the land swap technique. I started doing that when I achieved a large territory in my home/work area and started to get frustrated at the inability to "play" as usual. (In my defense, it is one-way swap with my wife having the large land. I actually am trying to rebuild anew using the post-February changes.) Having said that, I would actually favor restrictions on "couch" play. The game is indeed designed to encourage travel, which we do, and the construction of huge lands from a single spot should be curtailed. But as I mentioned, there needs to be something available to players during times they are not able to travel. The utility structures are fine until you hit the Level 1000 maximum, at which point you either are stuck or required to do away with a source of resources. I think part of the problem is the way land areas grow. There's not much of a diminishing return system in place, given that the 1 gold/0.1 supply per level fee for merging lands is particularly prohibitive, especially as land areas grow quadratically along with resource collection. Perhaps some quadratic growth of fees would diminish the marginal return. Just a thought. I agree with other commentators about the post hoc ergo proctor hoc assumption related to game traffic. Certainly other factors are principally involved.
  6. In terms of resource collection, would it be possible for the perks that give bonuses work with the tracking satellite? There was a difference between getting resources on a large land using the flag capture and the tracking satellite, but now the former is no longer functional. If there's a reason for not using perk bonuses with the tracking satellite, I could understand that.
  7. Looks like I jumped the gun by 5 minutes or so.
  8. I just looked at the Bases tab on the app and instead of the nearby city or town, it's showing the names of the lands from which the bases were created. Is this a glitch or a deliberate change?
  9. FoT also builds missile launchers on Level 1 lands as well. I never worried about it before but I assume that breaking the rules in par for the course for terrorists. (I've never heard of such obtaining the proper permits from city hall to conduct their acts of destruction.)
  10. Just following up. It still seems to be an issue.
  11. I can see this as a not bad ldea for bases. Right now I have two pairs of bases with the same name as they are located in cities with the same name but in differing states. A unique name would allow for some personalization, a lot like naming cities in Civilization for example. That is, if it not an issue with databases. However, I doubt that this would be useful for individual lands. They spawn way too quickly and get merged in frequently. At least bases are fairly stable.
  12. I like this idea if it is doable. A notification alert would be good as notifications are turned on by default. The only thing I would recommend is an upper limit on the number of pings in a given time frame, in order for it to not be abused by spammers and/or bullies.
  13. I have had the same issue. In fact, the player with whom I had a war disappeared from my tracking list, and I had to manually re-add it. Even with that, I still cannot see the player. (The war ended with a surrender but no truce was made, for what it is worth.)
  14. One way to collect more is to spend in between charges of the supermagnets. With supplies, you can use them for upgrading defenses on your lands and bases. It uses money as well, but you can get more of that from supermagnets as well.
  15. I am considering adjusting the location of one or two of my bases and was wondering what the upper limit, if any, that there may be on such a move. For example, would it be possible to move a base more than 100 km away from its current location? Also, is it possible to move a base to within 100 km of another of my bases? Thanks in advance.
  16. The situation has been resolved. Evidently it was a glitch involving the recognition of Level 10+ bases. I suspect our fearless dev will provide more information in the near future.
  17. Fair enough. I have reasons for keeping it vague but I can DM Mr.D. the specific information.
  18. Our bases our on opposite sides of the land in question. The land is just inside our respective 100-km circles. An analogy is that 1 and 100 are 99 apart, 100 and 199 are 99 apart, but 1 and 199 are not within a hundred of each other. The land would be at 100 while are bases are 1 and 199. (I do not have exact distances as our respective bases are distant from our main bases.) Below is the message that I get if I try to purchase a land outside of range. Thus I assume the range is not the issue.
  19. There is already the ability to remove a utility structure. I think that the request is to avoid a full-on deletion in favor of changing types and preserving the level and thus the work put into it. I will have to side on maintaining the current rule. In the real world, a piece of equipment cannot simply be changed to a whole different type.
  20. Just to clarify, the land that I'm looking at is within the 100-km range of one of my bases. It is also within 100 km of one of the other player's bases. It's simply that those bases are not in range of each other. However, I would not think it would generate the message below. Both of us have bases above Level 10. I am trying to determine what could be going on.
  21. I was wondering if the issue could be that our respective bases do not overlap in their respective 100-km circles. The land in question is inside the area where our base circles overlap. Would that make a difference?
  22. The same thing happens with me. I take advantage of it as much as I can by building to Level 10 on the sandbags before converting to a base. The sandbags cannot upgrade after base conversion which leaves a weird button on the base screen for partials.
  23. Keep capturing land. Resources spawn as a result of such captures. Of course as you capture lands, you will eventually have to travel further away for available land.
  24. I'm trying to offer to buy a land from another player but I'm getting a message saying that we both need to have Level 10 bases. We both have them. The only thing that I can think of it the land in question is overlapped only by low-level bases. Is this a glitch or a feaure? Specifically if it is a feature, what would be the necessary criteria to make such an offer?
